A special presentation for Administrators on a variety of 21st Century technology tools. Multiple models of video cameras, digital cameras, document cameras, student response systems, interactive whiteboards, MP3 players, netbooks, and laptops will be reviewed as well as an overview of strategies for these technologies’ use in the classroom. We’ll include time for a frank discussion of advantages and disadvantages of each of these technologies. In addition, an afternoon session will be offered to give hands-on time for superintendents, principals, technology coordinators, and curriculum directors to experience the technologies shown in the morning. It’s not in our hands at this minute, but as soon as it hits the shelves, our training staff will be working on this new training on the iPad and learning lots of strategies for its use in the classroom. What is this new technology tool and what’s all the excitement about?  Imagine being able to page through Web sites, write an email, flick through photos, or watch a movie on a big, 9.7-inch, LED-backlit IPS multi-touch screen with the touch of a finger. Right at this point, there are 150,000 apps in the Apple iTunes App Store to use on the iPad. Many are free or low-cost and have educational value. These apps can run in their original size or be expanded to fill the screen. Apps already purchased for an iPhone or iPod Touch can be synced to the iPad from a Mac or PC.  There’ll be new apps designed specifically for this device as well. Attendees will learn how to use the document camera as well as ways it can enrich your lessons. Includes: 2 Elmo TT-02s Document Cameras.

 

Registration must be received 2 weeks prior to the first class unless noted otherwise. Cancellation Policy: There is no charge if your registration cancellation is received at least 2 weeks prior to start of class. Graduate course fee refunds follow the university policy. A minimum enrollment is required for the class to be held.
