Digital cameras have extensive uses and often motivate educators to integrate technology effectively in their curriculum. This introductory course is intended to provide participants with a secure knowledge of basic digital camera operation, as well as introduce them to effective methods for curriculum integration. The use of photo editing in this training will provide an avenue for the manipulation of  digital images. Prerequisite: None

This training is offered by INFOhio, in cooperation with the Northwest Ohio Educational Technology Foundation (NWOET), for both social studies teachers and school librarians at sites around the state. The purpose of the workshop is to apply standardized criteria to align school library resources to grade level indicators, understand grade level indicators as they relate to the benchmarks, retrieve aligned resources locally and via the INFOhio Curriculum Resource Catalog and create the catalog record to retrieve aligned resources.

These three courses can be taken together or individually, depending on the needs of the student. Participants of this series are encouraged to bring along their own equipment and if available. Equipment will be available for use for those who do not bring their own.

Module I – Video Production: Tips & Tricks
Datse: Wednesday & Thursday, July 23 & 24, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
This training will address the lingo, storyboarding, shot lists, voice-overs, camera techniques & other related equipment, uses of video.
Module II – Video Editing: Part I
Dates: Friday & Wednesday, July 25 & 30, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Students will be introduced to the basics of video editing – non-linear vs. linear editing, software choices, A, and B roll and other lingo, handling audio, titling, and more.
Module III – Video Editing: Part II
Dates: Thursday & Friday, July 31 & August 1, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Includes hands-on video editing with Premiere, iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, or the software selected and supplied by the participant, working towards a finished product that can be of value in the teacher’s instruction.

 

Registration must be received 2 weeks prior to the first class. Cancellation Policy: There is no charge if your registration cancellation is received at least 2 weeks prior to start of class. Graduate course fee refunds follow the university policy. A minimum enrollment is required for the class to be held.
